ravishing red.

i’m loving the fall 2010 line from dear creatures. the season’s looks were inspired by nancy drew and the hardy boys. such a fun concept! i like how everyday & wearable everything is.

i love love love these capes with their military-inspired details. you can find everything at dear creatures. some items are also available at modcloth, anthropologie, le train bleu, and other online retailers.

these treats look yummy and gorgeous!

raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens:

bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens:

brown paper packages tied up with strings:

cream-colored ponies and crisp apple strudels:

doorbells and sleigh bells and schnitzel with noodles:

wild geese that fly with the moon on their wings:

girls in white dresses with blue satin sashes:

snowflakes that stay on my nose and eyelashes:

silver white winters that melt into springs:

these are a few of my favorite things.

you dazzle me.

13Dec10

i just made my first purchase from shoe dazzle, even though i’ve been a member for…a long time. it’s basically a shoe of the month club. on the first day of every month, they email you a link to your showroom. there’s a different selection there each month, based on questions you answer about your style and the type of shoes you like to wear. every pair is $39.95, and the shipping is free. and you don’t have to buy a pair every month–you can simply opt out.

i haven’t loved a pair of shoes enough to buy any yet. but i just peeked in my showroom today and found these! they might not look like all that much, but i tried on a similar pair at tj maxx about a month ago, and they were *so* cute on me. i love booties, but i have short legs. anything that goes up to or around my ankles cuts my legs off and makes me look even shorter. but with the slit in the top, they actually sort of elongate. the pair at tj maxx were something like $60, so i didn’t buy them, because i’ve suddenly become very frugal in the past year or two (another reason why i had yet to buy anything from shoe dazzle). but when i saw these, i knew it was meant to be.

i can’t wait to get these in the mail! i know, i know…’tis the season for giving. but my treat for hitting 25,000 words during nanowrimo was a new pair of fabulous shoes. i hadn’t found anything i loved yet, so i didn’t get any. this is my justification for buying something for myself at this time of year. ;)

i am absolutely in love with these recreations. they’re scenes from various alfred hitchcock movies (some of my favorite movies *ever*) recreated by modern photographers and actors. mind you, they aren’t remakes of the movies themselves, just these photographic scenes.

i think these are gorgeous and just brilliant. some of my favorite classic movie stars portrayed by a few of my favorite new ones. hope you enjoyed it as much as i did. :)

i am positively in love with these gray ankle boots from ziavintage at etsy. alas, they are a size ten, and my feet are an eight-and-a-half. :/  if you or someone you love can wear them, they’d make a great christmas gift! the best part? they’re only $28!

i <3 scarlett.

scarlett johansson is one of my most favorite actresses. she evokes the feeling of old hollywood–the grace and timelessness of the stars back then. she seems like such a down to earth person, and she’s just so beautiful! and, in my opinion, a great actress who can take on many roles.

she also has a lovely singing voice. break up, the album she made with pete yorn, is amazing. her voice is very classic too, and complements pete’s very well.

here she is with my #3 celebrity crush, robert downey, jr. le sigh.

it’s been brought to my attention that i haven’t updated *all the pretty* in quite some time… sorry about that. it feels like i’m always apologizing for not updating here, but i swear, from now on i’m going to do it at least once a week. i have two pretty, pretty posts i’m working on right now. but to tide you over for now, here are some other pretties!

and the prettiest pretty of all:

see you soon!
